We attended two conferences in one week…

Post date: Tuesday, November 12th, 2019 - 16:57

Last week was really active for Hunnect – we attended two worldwide events. Our COO, István Markó visited the well-renowned LocWorld conference in the Silicon Valley, while our General Director, Péter Lepahin represented Hunnect the BNI Global Convention in Warsaw, Poland. Both events were full of insightful presentations, motivating speeches, networking opportunities – and of course great people. It was nice to meet so many existing and potential partners. We wish you all a similarly active November before the holiday season starts!

Hunnect at the XTRF Summit 2019

Post date: Monday, September 16th, 2019 - 12:30

Krisztián Király, our Chief Technology Officer visited the XTRF Summit 2019, held in Krakow between September 4-6. The conference was organized by XTRF Management Systems S.A., a company developing a state-of-the-art translation management system (TMS), thus the participants came from language service providers using the TMS and other technology vendors from the language industry.

The keynote speeches were held by Jochen Hummel, creator of the original computer-assisted translation software called Trados, and Konstantin Dranch, a translation industry analyst, about the future of translation software and successful sales strategies. In addition, the XTRF team has presented their processes and future plans. In the coffee breaks, users of XTRF could exchange their ideas about helping automation and smoother processes.

Our participation at the conference was very helpful in order to get closer to our clients and vendors, but we also gained a handful of ideas that will allow us to move forward in process automation and ultimately serve our clients better.

Our Client Satisfaction Survey has been closed and analysed

Post date: Monday, November 26th, 2018 - 15:30

We are very happy to acknowledge that the year 2018 has brought the highest number of replies ever to our Client Satisfaction Survey. The results seem to be in line with the earlier tendencies: our strongest points are still the skills and know-how of the project managers (excellent according to 76% and good according to 22% of the respondents – which is 98%). But quality is equally outstanding: 91% of the respondents deem it good (20%) or excellent (71%). As to the text replies, our clients have pointed out the quick response time, the nice and kind manners of our team members and the uncompromised respect of deadlines. Concerning areas for development, we have already made efforts to reach even more positive responses next year. Thank you again for participating, and for all the positive and useful feedback!

We are top 3 again!

Post date: Monday, March 19th, 2018 - 15:30

Hungary’s English-language economic newspaper, the Budapest Business Journal has again included an overview of the Hungarian language services market in its March 9th paper edition. As usual, they have also published the list of the top translation companies, and it is our honour and pride to report that we have kept and strengthened our third position. Also, as one of the two agencies outside of the capital, we relieve the inequality of the market which is very much centralized in Budapest. We are happy to see that the insightful yearly overview has appeared again, and we congratulate our fellow members of the list!

We are proud to be a member of this international community of success.

An important change in Hungarian regulations on certified translation

Post date: Monday, January 8th, 2018 - 14:30

This year starts with an important and positive change in Hungraian regulations relating to the translation market: in case of civil proceedings starting in 2018 or later, the involved foreign documents do not need certified translation (that is, made by OFFI, the Hungaran Office for Translation and Attestation). According to the new law, a „simple” translation is sufficient. We truly hope that this is only the first step in a series of streamlining and antibureaucracy processes in certified translation, which are encouraged both by the European Union and Hungarian professional associations for many years now. If you have any questions concerning certified translations, please feel free to contact us.

We have introduced our new translation management system, XTRF!

Post date: Monday, April 3rd, 2017 - 15:00

Today, Hunnect has started using XTRF, a translation management system (TMS) that fully takes advantage of the latest cloud-based technologies. The change does not only affect us: our clients and freelance linguists will also experience its advantages thanks to the Client Portal and Vendor Portal specifically designed for them, but also through the online Quote Request form – all of which can be reached directly from our home page. Submitting a translation request online has never been easier – but project management and the handling of vendor issues have also become simpler and faster compared to our previous TMS. Consequently, all our partners will spare some valuable time by using XTRF.

Introducing the new Hunnect logo

Post date: Friday, March 17th, 2017 - 14:00

The eagle-eyed may have noticed that Hunnect has introduced a redesigned logo containing our new slogan ’Making sense of the world’. The change is not without reason: we felt that this slogan is the best way to express our philosophy, and it should be represented along with our logo in every instance. ’Making sense of the world’ means for us that the primary objective of a good translation company is to transfer not just a textual message to the target audience, but also the real meaning, the world views and the intentions behind that message. Hunnect is proud to connect its clients to millions of readers, users and customers worldwide.

We are still Hungary's third biggest translation company!
Post date: Friday, March 10th, 2017 - 17:00
The newest, March 10 issue of the bi-weekly English-language economic magazine of Hungary, the Budapest Business Journal has published a comprehensive, detailed annex about the state and the perspectives of the Hungarian translation industry, similarly to previous years. The issue also contains the ranking of the Hungarian translation companies based on revenue, where Hunnect has again finished on the elegant 3rd place, showing a 6% growth compared to last year. The first and second places are respectively held by the state-owned OFFI Inc. and by Amplexor Hungary Ltd., which is the affiliate of the Luxemburg-based LSP, Amplexor. Thus, it is safe to say that Hunnect is the biggest translation company owned by private entrepreneurs in Hungary. Our goal this year is to further catch up with the leader and the runner-up, so that we can become the inevitable Hungarian language service provider for the private sector in this very competitive, ever-changing industry.
Post date: Thursday, March 9th, 2017 - 13:00

Our Life Science Department has grown again this year! With the addition of QA specialist and translator specialized in life sciences Eszter Rédei as full time employee – after she had spent several months at Hunnect as a trainee – our team has become even bigger and stronger. Managing dozens of pharmaceutical and medical translation projects daily into Hungarian and other Central and Eastern European languages, the Life Science team is a real success story for us – even more so that Éva Tóth-Tölgyesi, the Head of the Department has recently won the “Trust” category in the Most translator and interpreter friendly project manager of 2016 awards, organized by the Association of Freelance Translators and Interpreters of Hungary. We are looking forward to the challenges that this year is going to bring to us.

On November 29th, the first Hungary-Bangaldesh Business Forum took place in Budapest with such esteemed guests as the Prime Minister of Bangladesh, Mrs. Seikh Hasina. Our General Director, Peter Lepahin represented Hunnect at the business meetings and learned a lot about the interesting possibilities this Asian country has to offer. Although in most people’s eyes Bangladesh is a country mainly involved in agriculture and ready made garments (no. 2 in the world), it has a lot of other key industries, such as pharma, ITC and tourism. The event was a genuinely cheerful and optimistic meeting of the two countries, which can and will cooperate a lot more in the future. Hunnect will be ready to help any international companies of both countries achieve in each other’s market.

This year, Hunnect organized its Vendor Day for the first time. The event included both professional presentations and leisure activities, so that the participating translators, proofreaders and translation students can develop professionally and at the same time grow together as a team. Hunnect employees held several presentations in various topics such as orthography, the special requirements of certain subject areas, technical tips and tricks etc. Moreover, several sport activities —such as squash and table tennis— were offered. Those visitors who were not familiar with the city of Szeged, could enjoy a guided sightseeing tour on the following day. According to the feedback, the Vendor Day was a unanimous success – thus we are intending to make it happen again.
See you again in 2017!

Hunnect proudly accepted the participation at the “Cavalcade of Languages” hosted by the Foreign Language Centre of the University of Szeged. Ms. Zita Nógrádi (Vendor Manager) and Ms. Viktória Fehér (Talent Manager) held a presentation titled Translator Careers for generation Y”, for the audience of high school students, university students and lecturers. Zita gave a brief introduction of the language industry — including its beauty besides its high expectations. We highlighted the importance of top-quality work and described the interesting and diverse challenges a language expert might face on a regular basis. We were happy to see that quite a few enthusiastic students handed in their CV applying for our apprentice program.

Hunnect is grateful to the organizers of this event!
